Creating a Notes Payable Document

“Edara” enables you to create a Notes Payable Document to ensure accurate documentation and formalization of all financial transactions. In this context, we provide you with a simple step-by-step guide on how to prepare a Notes Payable Document using the system.

Creating a Notes Payable Document

Note: You can control the permission to change the notes payable date—whether during creation or editing—through the accounts settings.

  • Choose the currency associated with the account.

  • Enter the Name of the Responsible Person (if applicable).

  • Select the Second Party Name.

Note: A single account can be linked to multiple suppliers. The main account name will appear in the “Second Party” field.

  • Select the supplier name.

Note: By clicking the icon “*” next to the supplier, you can open their profile, which includes credit limit, responsible person, current balances, and access to both the Notes Payable Report and the Account Ledger before creating a new note.

  • Click the (+) icon to enter the cheque number.

Note: The cheque number can be unique or duplicated, depending on the configuration of the "Accounting" settings.

  • Enter the Amount.

  • Specify the Due Date.

  • Select the Bank Name.

  • Define the Document Type (e.g., Cheque).

  • Add any Notes related to the cheque or notes payable document.

  • Upload an Image of the Cheque as an attachment.

  • Add any related Documents or Entries.

  • Click on “Save”.
