Managing Permissions for Sensitive Data

When a user is granted access to a specific page in “Edara”, they are, by default, given access to all tools and features available on that page. The system administrator can manually adjust these permissions according to the company’s policies.

However, when new features include sensitive data such as cost or profit, “Edara” applies a different behavior to protect them:

  • These features are disabled by default for all users.

  • No user can view them unless the system administrator reviews the permissions and explicitly grants access.

Later, if the administrator grants a user access to an entire page, the user will automatically gain visibility of all tools and features on that page — including the sensitive ones — unless the permissions are manually adjusted.

It becomes the administrator’s responsibility to carefully review and manage these permissions, ensuring that only the right users can access such sensitive data.

Conclusion

Edara protects your sensitive data by making it inaccessible by default whenever a new feature is introduced. However, it remains the administrator’s duty to configure permissions properly and ensure that every user only has the level of access they are authorized for.
