Creating a chain unit of measure
A chain unit of measure is a group of related units of measure, The units of measure are assigned to a main unit of measure at the chain level, and then the items are linked to a chain of units of measure.
You can create this type of unit of measure by following these steps:
Go to the warehouse module
Open "Unit of measures"
Choose "Chains"
Note: When selecting a unit of measure chain, a message will appear to warn you that it is not possible to change the type of units of measure once a transaction related to this choice has been created.
Click "New"
Enter the name of the chain
Click on the (+) sign to add a unit of measure
Enter the details for each unit (name and ratio)
Specify the main unit for the chains and the ratios to it
Note: It is preferred that the ratio of the main unit be one and for the main unit to be the smallest unit in the units of measure.
Click "Save"
