Creating a chart of stock items (classifications)

When dealing with a large number of items in the warehouses, you may find it difficult to organize them or access them quickly. The stock item chart (classification) helps you arrange products in a clear structure, making search and tracking operations inside the system easier.

Creating a chart of stock items (classifications)

  • Go to the “Warehouses” Module.
  • Open the “Chart of stock items” page.
  • Hover over "Chart of stock items”.
  • Click on "New classification".
  • Enter the description.
  • Click on “Save”.
  • Hover over the “classification”.
  • Click on "New classification" to create a new classification under the current classification.
  • Enter the description.
  • Click on “Save”.

Notes:

  1. You can edit the name of a classification by double-clicking it. You will automatically go to the "Stock items classifications" page. Edit the "Description" and click on "Update".
  2. You can create an item from the chart of stock items. For detailed steps, refer to the article: Creating a Stock Item.

Selecting the Classification Coding Method

"Edara" allows you to specify whether classifications are uncoded, freely coded, or automatically coded. To set this up, follow these steps:

  • Go to the “Settings”.
  • Open the “Modules settings” page.
  • Go to the “Warehouse” tab.
  • Select a classification coding method.
  • Click on "Save"
