Collecting receivable notes helps provide the liquidity needed to meet other financial obligations, such as salaries, purchases, and operating expenses. It also enhances the company’s cash flow, contributing to an overall improvement in its financial position.
Collecting Receivable Notes
“Edara” allows you to complete this process in three ways:
1- From Cash Receipt
Go to the “Accounting” module.
Open the “Cash in” Page.
Search for the desired document using the “🔍” icon or the arrows at the bottom of the page.
Click on “Edit”.
Click on “N/R Cashing”.
Notes:
You can reset all suggested amounts to zero if not needed by clicking on “Reset”.
You can distribute the amount over more than one cheque, or add the total amount to a single cheque.
Enter the cash receipt amount in the “Paid” field of the note you wish to settle.
Click on “Accept”.
Click on “Update”.
Note: You can also pay checks while creating a Cash-In Document.
2- From Journal Entry
Go to the” Accounting” module.
Open the “Journal entry” page.
Search for the desired document using the “🔍” icon or the arrows at the bottom of the page.
Click on “Edit”.
Click on the amount field in the “credit” column.
Click on “N/R Cashing”.
Notes:
You can reset all suggested amounts to zero if not needed by clicking on “Reset”.
You can distribute the amount over more than one cheque, or add the total amount to a single cheque.
Enter the cash receipt amount in the “Paid” field of the note you wish to settle.
Click on “Accept”.
Click on “Update”.
You can verify that the note has been successfully cashed by checking the “IS NR/NP Cashed” column, where the status will change to “Yes”.
Note: You can also settle checks while creating a Journal Entry.
3- From Account Ledger Report
Go to the “Accounting” module.
Open the “NR report” page.
Click on “+” next to the GL account to search for the required account.
Click on “Generate”.
Double-click on the account.
Click on “Generate”.
Select the amount you want to settle in the Credit column (amounts shown in red are available for use).
Click on “NR Cashing” at the bottom of the report.
Click on “Cash”.
