Creating a Grouping Stock Item
Creating a Grouping Stock Item
Updated over a week ago

When dealing with multiple items that consist of properties such as color, size, etc.—as in the clothing trade—entering each item individually becomes a tedious process. Therefore, we have developed the "Grouping Stock Item" feature in "Edara," which streamlines the registration of this type of item.

In this article, we will explain the steps to execute this easily.

Creating a Grouping Stock Item

Before creating grouping items, make sure to activate the warehouse setting "Dynamic properties [i.e apparel]" from the warehouse module.

Then follow these steps:

  • Go to the warehouse module

  • Select “Stock items”

  • Click “New”

  • Enter the “Item description”

  • Select the “Is grouping item” option

Note: After selecting the “Is grouping item” option, a new drop down list named “Dynamic property” will appear.

  • Choose a dynamic property from the drop-down list or click on "🖉" to enter a new dynamic property

Note: You can also select the dynamic property from the drop-down list and then click on "🖉" to edit it.

  • Enter the “Code” and “Description” for the dynamic property

  • Click “Save

  • After selecting the “Dynamic property” option, a new drop down list “Values” will appear.

  • Choose a value from the drop-down list or click on "🖉" to enter a new value.

Note: You can also select the value from the drop-down list and then click on "🖉" to edit it.

  • Click “+” to assign the value

  • Click “Save

Note: A pop-up of proposed items to be created will open with all possible combinations according to the assigned values. For example, if there are two colors and two sizes, items will be suggested as shown in the following image:

  • Click “Confirm

Note: Before clicking “Confirm”, you can exclude some items from being created.

Note: You can modify an existing grouping item by adding a value, resulting in new items being created. Similarly, you can delete a value from an existing grouping item, which will delete the related items if they are not used in documents.
