Priority of Applying Promotions

Applying multiple promotions at the same time may seem complex, but "Edara" provides a clear explanation of how the system handles different cases. This helps users understand and manage these scenarios effectively.

In this article, we provide you with the details.

Priority of Applying Promotions

"Edara" allows you to create various types of promotions, such as: (Product Discount - Order Discount - Buy X Get Y). To manage these promotions efficiently, it is important to understand how "Edara" processes different cases.

But first, let's go over some key rules:

  1. If you create two promotional offers of the same type but with different conditions, "Edara" will automatically apply the latest one.

  2. The system does not automatically add the free product in promotions. Instead, the user must manually include it in the sales order, and "Edara" will then apply the relevant promotions accordingly.

  3. The execution of promotions depends on the order in which the customer adds products to their cart.

  4. Multiple discounts can be applied to a single order if they are of different types.

Below are some examples of how Promotions are applied:

1- Product Discount + "Buy X, Get Y"

When combining a “product discount” with a "Buy X, Get Y" offer, various outcomes may arise. These scenarios are detailed in the article: Priority of Applying Two Different Promotions in "Edara".

2- Product Discount Only

If a customer adds 4 units of the same product to their cart and there are two different discounts (e.g., 5% discount on all products and 9% discount on all products), "Edara" will automatically apply the most recent discount (the latest created).

3- "Buy X, Get Y" Only

Various cases may apply to this type of promotion. Some examples are detailed in the article: Priority of Applying "Buy X, Get Y" Promotions in "Edara".

4- Order Discount Combined with Other Promotions

Order discounts apply to the entire sales order, while "Buy X, Get Y" offers and product discounts apply only to individual line items. As a result, they do not interfere with each other.

For example, if you create a 10% discount on all orders and, at the same time, another 5% discount on all products, the system will apply both promotions together.
