Units of Measure
Updated over a week ago

Through this feature, you can choose the appropriate unit of measures to apply according to the nature of your work. When creating a unit of measures for the first time in the "Edara" program, the program enables you to choose between Chains UOM or free UOM. To apply this, you must follow the following steps:

  • Go to Warehouse

  • Choose Unit of Measures

When coding the units of measure for the first time, you can choose between:

1- Chains: UoMs arranged in predefined groups and the UoM is assigned to a main UoM at the chain level, then link the items to the UoM chain.

2- Free UoM: UoMs are not arranged in predefined groups but in proportions and the main UoM is defined at the item level.

Ex: If you have many items and they all have two basic units (a box and a piece), but each item has a different number of pieces in the box (a box of 2 pieces and a box of 3 pieces….and so on), then it is more appropriate to use free units of measurement, a box, and a piece only, and specify proportions The piece of the box at the level of each item.
