# Control "Closing/Opening an Accounting Period"

The control setting for closing/opening the accounting period helps protect financial data by preventing unauthorized or accidental changes to historical data.

Once a period is closed, it becomes read-only, preventing users from making unintended adjustments.

## Control "Closing/Opening an Accounting Period"

1. Go to Settings
2. Choose Module settings
3. Click on "Accounting"
4. Enable or disable the setting for "Closing/Opening an Accounting Period"
5. Click " **Save** "
