# Cancelling a sales order

You can cancel a sales order to keep the sales order code sequence and make it easier to review its details.

## Cancelling a sales order

Make sure the sales order is not linked to any documents and has not been approved. If it was approved before, [cancel the approval first](https://help.getedara.com/en/articles/5245761-editing-a-sales-order-linked-to-an-issue-offering), and make sure the [sales order cancellation](https://help.getedara.com/en/articles/9655176-enabling-the-sales-order-cancellation-feature) setting is enabled.

1. Go to the “Sales” Module.
2. Open the “Sales Order” page.
3. Search for the sales order using “🔍” or the arrows at the bottom of the page.
4. Click on “ **Edit** ”.
5. Enable “Canceled”.
6. Click on “ **Update** ”.
