# Creating a Service Item

Unlike stock items, services do not require physical stock and can be created as separate service items to be added to sales invoices and sales returns, with their prices and applicable taxes specified.

## Creating a Service Item

1. Go to the “Sales” module.
2. Open the “Service Item” page.
3. Click on “ **New** ”.
4. Enter the item Code.
5. Enter the “Description” of the service item.
6. Enter the “Price”.
7. Select the “Default tax rate” and “Default withholding rate” from the dropdown list (if applicable).
8. Click on “ **Save** ”.
