Offering customers additional benefits can help encourage them to return and make repeat purchases. You can use the loyalty points program to reward customers with points for their purchases, which they can later redeem as discounts on their next purchases.

Before starting to use the program, you can configure the rules for earning and redeeming points, specify the users who are allowed to access it, connect it to "Edara" to sync customer data, and configure the verification methods and program data management settings.

## Configuring Loyalty Points Settings

1. Go to " [Loyalty](https://loyalty.edara.io/) ".
2. Open the "Settings" page.

> **Note:** You can choose to connect to “Edara”, or complete the connection later from the program settings.

### First: Earn & Redeem Rules

Loyalty Points lets you reward customers with points based on their purchases, which they can later redeem as discounts on future purchases. You can define how points are earned, point value, when they expire, and when they become available to use.

1. Go to "Earn & Redeem Rules".
2. Set the "Earn Rate" based on the sale amount (the value of the customer's purchases).

For example, with an earn rate of 5%, a customer earns 5 points on a purchase of 100 EGP.

1. Set the "Point Value" to define the discount value of each point when redeemed.

For example, if one point is worth 10 EGP, redeeming 5 points gives the customer a discount of 50 EGP.

1. Set the "Points Expiry" to define how long earned points remain valid.
2. Set "Points Availability" by choosing one of the following options:
   - Instant: Points become available starting from the customer's next order.
   - Delayed: Points become available after the number of days you specify.
3. Click on " **Save Earn Rules** ".

> **Notes:**
>
> 1. Points earned from an order cannot be redeemed on the same order. Even when "Instant" is selected, they become available starting from the next order.
> 2. Once points reach the specified expiry date, the customer can no longer redeem them.

### Second: Users & Access

Admins can invite users to work with Loyalty Points by adding their email addresses.

1. Go to "Users & access".
2. Enter the email address of the user you want to add.
3. Click on " **Add cashier** ".

Admins can also revoke a user's access or remove them by clicking on "**Revoke**" or "**Remove**".

### Third: Data Sources

If you already use "Edara" and have existing customer records, you can connect Loyalty Points to "Edara" and sync your customer data instead of entering it again. This also allows you to manage participating customers and their points from one place.

You can connect to "Edara" during the initial Loyalty Points setup or later from the settings by following these steps:

1. Go to "Data Sources".
2. Click on " **Connect Edara** ".

Once connected, you can import customers who already exist in "Edara".

1. Click on " **Sync with Edara** ".

The system will import the customer data into Loyalty Points.

After connecting, go to the "Members" page to view each customer's points balance and transaction history. You can also disable point earning for a specific customer when needed.

### Fourth: SMS Verification

You can require SMS verification before customers redeem their points. When points are redeemed, an OTP is sent to the customer's registered phone number and must be entered to verify the customer before completing the redemption.

### Fifth: Danger Zone – Deleting Data

The "Danger Zone" allows you to clear Loyalty Points data when needed by clicking on "**Clean All Data**".
